Coastal Cities Summit

The IOI USA hosted the second Coastal Cities Summit in St. Petersburg Florida on May 1-3, 2012.  More than 60 speakers presented new research, best practices and strategic recommendations for innovative programs to address coastal issues.

NOS Participates in First Coastal Cities Summit Last Updated on 2008-11-20 00:00:00 National Ocean Service Assistant Administrator John H. Dunnigan addressed city leaders, scientists, researchers, and entrepreneurs Nov. 19 at the first-ever Coastal Cities Summit in St. Pete Beach, Fla. The event was hosted by the International Ocean Institute (IOI), a non-governmental body with consultative status at the United Nations. St. Pete Beach, the Institute’s only location in the U.S., is one of 25 international IOI operational centers around the world. At the three-day summit, Dunnigan discussed NOAA coastal management initiatives in the context of sobering challenges.
